Gov. Spitzer is Sick

March 12, 2008 at 10:26 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , )

The tragedy of New York State Governor Elliot Spitzer’s fall from power is more than just a stupid man not being able to control his sex drive.  These are the actions of a sick man.  When all the political epitaphs are finished being written and the smoke clears, people will recognize that Elliot Spitzer is in need of psychological help. It has been said that power corrupts.  But I have to wonder, given the character of recently elected officials, if corrupt people- more so than well meaning citizensl- seek power for power’s sake.  The King is dead, long live the King.  David Paterson will go down in history as one of the greatest governors in New York history.

No! Spitzer is wrong and immoral – possibly evil – but not sick. Do not excuse bad behavior by attributing it to some disorder.

I get your point with Spitzer…and agree…..but you don’t even mention Kristen…the whore that was selling herself…..is that ok in your eyes…….how can you overlook that? A little double standard huh…

I didn’t bother to mention “Kristen” because she’s a whore. What would have been the point? She’s either been forced into that life and therefor deserves less blame, or she’s chosen to sell her body, in which case she’s most likely not worth blaming since she’d lack the capacity for shame.

Spitzer, as Governor and successful businessman, must be held to a higher standard than a whore.

Frankly, I feel that it is very sad. Tens years is a very long time. To be exposed while holding the top position in the State of New York is even harder. I truly feel that our society has lost much of its morals. How do we recapture lost morality? It is the responsibility of parents to try to set a good example to their children. I don’t think he had any other option in this matter he had to resign. I remember him as being an excellent Attorney General. Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s choice of running mates was one that demonstrated that he is one who recognizes the abilities of minorities. David Patterson has a fine reputation and excellent abilities. I wish him the best of luck and much success as he embarks on this historic journey.

LOL………that’s ludicrous….status or wealth does not determine right or wrong. Are you saying she is a “victim” so she deserves less blame…..?

  6. jonolan said,

No, I’m saying either she was a victim – which is highly doubtful – or she is essentially the capacity for shame so the was no point in my mentioning her in my comment.

Status and wealth do not determine right or wrong, but it is reasonable to expect more from a Governor than a whore.

I agree with that…..but the media portrays her as some celebrity. She will become very wealthy before it is all over….and he may do time. Something is wrong with that.

    Muse,

She’s drop dead gorgeous, seems quite personable, is a fine singer, and now hows media exposure; of course she’s going to be famous. This is America after all. Besides she’s the perfect plucky “victim” who’s “survived” being exploited by rich and power White Men. LOL

The blogoshpere is already with people making excuses for her…

Resolved on drop dead gorgeous. I watch CNN, FOX new, and other affiliates quite often. I have noticed that when she is to topic of discussion….the panel is made-up of all males….no women….hummmmm. Do you think they may have a different perspective? It seems that every male is saying go “Kristen.” Don’t agree with the media that she is a victim…..she made the choice…victims don’t have a choice.
